Ocker Quiz #4

Hey Gang,

Before we get to the next quiz, I have a correction to make. I accidentally left Guru out of the results of OC#3 (it was his fault). I've updated the results, so please scroll down and have a look at the updated score.

As I mentioned, this quiz has a visual element. Here goes:

What do these Aboriginal rock carvings (as found at Carnarvon Gorge NP in Queensland) represent?

Click on the thumbnails for a closer view.

I give Velma inside odds on this one.

Its actually the earliest known edition of the Hagar the Horrible comic strip, the humor gets lost in the traslation but its still clever...oh Hagar, your so crazy...

They have a certain duality in there symetry. This suggests an early ying and yang represtentation of couples be they fish or mamilian walking or swimming up from some promodal slime. On their journey they stopped for a photo shoot or to sun themselves and their souls left an impression on the rocks. They were probly posing for some aliens who were visiting at the time. Ok do I get credit for creative BS. Dad

This was the early way of advertising "Totally All Nude" at the aboriginal strip clubs. They were worried about all the prudish aboriginies telling them that they had to cover up the ladies, so they couldn't just come out and say it. Oh, and I didn't need wikipedia for this answer. -Matt

Velma wins, but then, I've been there and already knew the answer. Unfortuately, again, too late to get in first and try and score some points :)

I was actually going to say female genitalia, but I'm kinda glad I wasn't the first.

Upon reflection I think this represents an early form of an aboriginal "gentlemen's club", or perhaps the red light district depending on clientele. The shallow carvings represent deeper carvings in process and "inspirational" artwork, while the deeper carvings themselves represent...well...are some of them about hip high?

Anthropologists must have been tickled at discovering the variety of sizes and heights of these carvings, but must also be have noted that their consistent orientation indicates they date from the pre-Kamasutra epoch before the influence of migrants from the Indian subcontinent.

You are all wrong - it's a trick question. It's not a rock carving at all. This is CAT scan of Scott's liver after traveling and freely drinking for several months now, and looking a little worse for the wear if you don't mind me saying so. At least I think it's his liver, perhaps it's his prosate...

Does the next cave have drawings of shockers?

Another try...

These carvings are a community medical record; they are depictions of the head wounds inflicted on tribesmen' own temples when failing to catch a left-handed boomerang thrown with the right hand. The aforementioned anthropologists note that the incidence of these carvings fell into decline when the tribesmen figured out the bend should go the other way.

...Not to be confused with the decline that occurred when Peter Garrett said the band should go the other way...

I almost forgot to mention... My long-lost Australian cousin told me that these are vaginas. -Matt
